Sen. Trillanes - A Mercenary Pretending to be A Hero?

Why we should not trust Senator Antonio Trillanes over his allegations about presidential frontrunner Mayor Rodrigo Duterte? Here are the proofs posted on Facebook and other social networking sites as open letter to Trillanes. You will be the one to judge. Dig deeper and do your own research too.

Wikipedia says:

A mercenary is a person who takes part in an armed conflict who is not a national or a party to the conflict and is "motivated to take part in the hostilities by the desire for private gain". In other words, a mercenary is a person who fights for personal gains of money or other recompense instead of fighting for the ideological interests of a country, whether they be for or against the existing government.

1. Elpido n. Rubio Jr, former trillanes supporter, give details how trillanes was kicked-out by Guardians and RAM.

"Elpido N. Rubio Jr., OPEN LETTER TO TRILLANES"

2. Manny Piñol named Trillanes as Paid Attack Dog

FELLOW DETAINEE SAYS TRILLANES RECEIVED MONEY FROM POLITICIANS
By Manny Piñol

A former officer of the Philippine Marines who was among the ring leaders of the infamous Oakwood Mutiny in 2003 said he suspects that Sen. Antonio Trillanes is acting as an attack dog of a political group out to destroy leading presidential candidate Rody Duterte.

Former Marines Captain Nick Faeldon, who was one of the six officers jailed in the Intelligence Service of the AFP detention centre along with Trillanes in 2003 followed a failed coup attempt, said he saw then Navy Lieutenant Senior Grade Trillanes receive a boxful of money from a congresswoman whose family was accused of corruption.

Faeldon said sometime in 2004, former Cong. Imee Marcos, now Ilocos Norte Governor, visited their detention cell along with her son and a lawyer.

They were ushered in by a Gen. Quevedo who was the ISAFP chief at that time.

"One afternoon Imee Marcos came with her son and Atty. Robles, lawyer ni Trillanes and they were escorted by ISAFP chief Gen. Quevedo," Faeldon said.

I saw her son carrying a box of Red Ribbon and when it was opened tumambad yong pera. I don’t know how much," he said.

Faeldon said he was shocked that Trillanes asked money from the Marcoses, a family hounded by accusations of corruption.

"Pagbalik namain sa kulungan I told him next time na may transaksyon ka hwag mo na ako isama,” Faeldon recounted.

Faeldon said he questioned Trillanes for soliciting money from known politicians which he said was a complete betrayal of the cause for which they staged the rebellion in the Oakwood Mutiny which was to denounce the corruption in the administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

I contacted Faeldon early today after I saw a meme circulating in the social media insinuating that self-proclaimed anti-corruption crusader Sen. Antonio Trillanes received huge amounts of money from two big political families during the time he was in jail for his role in the infamous Oakwood Mutiny in 2003.

The meme obviously suggested that Trillanes, who has launched a relentless attack against leading Presidential candidate Rody Duterte, could be working for the interests of political groups and personalities to financial considerations.

Curious, I contacted Faeldon, who has become a friend after we were introduced to each other a few years ago, to validate the suggestive meme.

Faeldon was detained the ISAFP detention facility in 2004 along with Trillanes, then a lieutenant senior grade in the Navy and four other officers - Marines Capt. Gary Alejano (now a Party-List Congressman), Army Capt. Gerardo Gambala, Army Capt. Milo Masterecampo and LtSg James Layug.

When asked the confirm the accusation in the meme that Trillanes, then a detainee received money from members of families who were also accused of corruption, Faeldon said that he personally witnessed the "transactions" between his fellow detainee and big name politicians.

Faeldon said he also personally knew of another instance when Trillanes received money from Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, who is now in a detention facility in Camp Crame also for corruption.

Faeldon, who escaped from jail several times the last was in 2007 and has recently yielded, said he has decided to come out in the open to divulge what he knows about Trillanes in the face of the senator's posturing that his attacks against Duterte are all part of his crusade against corruption.

"The Trillanes that I know is a bad and wrong messenger in the advocacy against corruption," Faeldon said.

Faeldon said dealing with politicians tainted with issues of corruption has made Trillanes an unreliable advocate against corruption in government.

"If he received money from politicians whose families were tainted with corruption then, it would not come as a surprise that the same act could be repeated today," he said.

Faeldon believes that the relentless attack Trillanes is waging on Duterte now is no longer about his advocacy against corruption but is already an act of corruption.

The former Marines officer said he is willing to have a face-to-face confrontation with his former cellmate to prove that he is telling the truth.

What can you say about this new revelations about Sen. Antonio Trillanes?

Is he a hero or a villain?

Comments

  1. Trillanes Lacks Credibility

If Trillanes wants people to believe him, he should provide real evidence. Until Trillanes can show real proof that his information is true and is sourced from unimpeachable records, he is just spinning an old wives’ tale.

He can spew lies and tall tales and get away with it because he hides behind the protection of congressional immunity in his “privilege speeches.”

The official AMLC statement is clear: "We have categorically stated before that the Anti-Money Laundering Council is not the source of the documents and information attached by Senator Antonio F. Trillanes IV in his complaint regarding the alleged bank accounts of President Rodrigo Duterte."

Deputy Ombudsman Arthur Carandang also admitted his irresponsibility, openly admitting that his source was not the AMLC or the banks, but the so-called ‘expose’ of Trillanes.

So, what is Trillanes’ credible source?

  2. The War on Drugs is Effective, But it Should be Done Properly

The War on Drugs is really having a positive impact on the nation’s peace and order. We have known all along that a huge bulk of everyday crimes – particularly the more heinous ones – are often committed by drug addicts. Now that we are finally reducing drugs in our streets, crime is really expected to go down. This is evidenced by the latest government report [Crime rate in Manila drops by 38% for past 12 months (http://manilastandard.net/sunday-lgu-section-pdf/ncr/248365/crime-rate-in-manila-drops-38-this-year.html)]

It is only unfortunate that a few innocent people, especially kids, are sometimes the unwanted victims. But the culprit is not the war on drugs. The culprits are the rotten, criminal cops who take advantage of the war on drugs in order to satisfy their criminal propensities.

As it is, Digong is now on an uphill battle in this war because he has to prosecute the campaign against drugs using a weakened police organization with too many corrupt and vile elements. Perhaps, it is time to from a special task force composed of idealistic and principled soldiers, policemen, NBI operatives and trained citizens who will form the core of his strike force on this war on drugs. A force of a couple of thousand would be a good start. Then he can also expand it to include an aggressive campaign against criminality.

Then he can better operate his War on Drugs and even root out the evil from the police force simultaneously. I’m sure the Filipino people wouldn’t mind seeing a few vile and corrupt policemen turning up dead on our streets every now and then.
