K to 12 Grading System 2015-2016. Philippines' Department of Education (DepEd) issued on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 an order which included the "new grading system" for K to 12.
Page 9 of 33-page enclosure of DO 8 s.2015 highlighted the Grading System to be used in assessing the learners.
"The K to 12 Basic Education Program uses a standards-and-competency-based grading system", it underscored.
According to the K to 12 new grading system, all grades will be based on the weighted raw score of the learners' summative assessments.
"The minimum grade needed to pass a specific learning area is 60, which is transmuted to 75 in the report card. The lowest mark that can appear on the report card is 60 for Quarterly Grades and Final Grades", it added.
Teachers will bid goodbye to KPUP (Knowledge, Performance, Understanding and Product) Grading System as the latest K to 12 grading system has fewer components - Written Work, Performance Tasks, and Quarterly Assessment.

This grading system will push me to strive more.. cuz I've read one comment here says that you need to pass through the percentage to be able to pass. on the other hand just like what my Philisophy teachers said that ' GRADES ARE JUST FORMALITY IT WILL NOT TALK ON YOUR BEHALF"

ReplyDeletehindi po, mali po pagkaintindi niyo, students will strive harder cause mas mahirap po makapasa kasi mas mataas ang passing score. For example, (i will base this on the new grading system) sa subject na science, sa written works i got 20%/40%, then sa performance task ang nakuha ko is 20%/40% and sa quarterly assessment ang nakuha ko is 10%/20%. meaning lahat yan I got half the score so when I will compute for the initial grades my grade is 50 and i trtransmute yan gamit nung table where 50 is equal to 72 sa report card, meaning I fail. So sa bagong Grading system, I need to get at least 24/40 both sa WW and PT and at least 12 sa QA. which will be only equal to passang awa which is 75. It's no longer basta makakuha ako ng score na 50% pasado na. ngayon it's 60%

Kung tutuusin po, pangit yang grading system na yan, if ang estudyante ay pumapasok sa klase at 0 ang mga quizzes niya. no performance at hindi pa siya nag exam. sinong magugulat if may makikita ka sa card niya na 60 being its grade even though he/she doesn't deserve to have that kind of grade kasi wala ka namang ikokompute right? and 0=60 sa transmuted grade. tong bagong grading system na to, pinapabayaan ang mga bata para maglampung. kasi alam niya na kahit bagsak ang grade niya sa initial grade siguradong may sasagip sa kanyang transmuted grade.

Deleteyes, specially for private schools..just like the implementation of K to 12, we have to pay the public officials for every seminar they conduct when in fact the gov't should give it free. Yong abrupt changes ang nagpapahirap sa mga teachers not the really the work load. Tama yong nagsabi na hindi pa nga fully implemented yong dating sistema heto at papaplitan na naman. Ano ba talaga?

ReplyDeletewtf!?no!! we have zero base system in the US. i'm a student there currently taking college level classes(i.e. Ap classes). the only difference is they present your grades by: A-90-100, B-80-89, C-70-79, F-0-69. therefore if one gets an F, that person is in hot water since parents can't assume you have like 65-69. the fact that you have an F means you might have something lower than that. btw even 69 aint nice... at all!!

DeleteI don't see the need for us to follow the educational nor grading system of any country, not even the US. There was no problem that needed change to begin with. While students from other countries come as exchange students to the Philippines because they know that we have quality education here, we on the other hand think we are inept because we feel outmoded by the educational system of other countries. The fact that DepEd added 2 grades to the system only brings added expenses on the part of the parents. Who says that these graduates from grade 12 are sure to get a job after graduating??? Eh kung college grads nga, di makakuha ng trabaho, highschool grad pa kaya??? Who are you kidding??? Can you please be a bit more realistic! And did you ever consider the fact, that because of the added two years, there will be a two year gap on college enrolments??? Two years bang tutunganga ang mga college and university professors natin??? Two years na walang kikitain ang mga colleges and universities??? Aba, marami-rami ang mawawalan ng trabaho dahil sa K to 12 na 'yan! And anyway, some of the subjects that are being taught in this K to 12 program are rubbish! Why does a student need to learn how to bake a cake, for crying out loud! He or she can take a culinary arts course for only 6 months if he or she wants to be a chef, right after highschool. What? You teach this in highschool and he or she becomes a baker??? You are only sub-standardizing the ambitions of the students. Instead of promoting being degree holders is the way to go, DepEd is telling these students that it's okay to just be a highschool graduate. Anyway, thats what TESDA is for, right? For those who do not want to go to college but work after highschool, they can train at TESDA and get a certificate after completion. Wala lang talaga kayong magawa kaya naisipan niyo na kopyahing ang educational system ng US? Diyan tayo magaling na mga Pinoy... sa imitation. Wala tayong originality! Hala! What assurance can you give the parents and the students, that they will have a job after graduating from highschool from this K to 12 program. Sure kayo diyan ha! Unless this government creates jobs, no matter what kind of educational system you apply, will not work! In 3 yrs. time, many professors will be jobless, many colleges and universities will shut down because of this K-12 program. Then what????

Grade 10 ka na pala this coming school year.. Wala ka bang subject na GMRC or Values dyan sa school mo? Kung makapagmura akala mo ang laki na ng naitulong mo sa Pilipinas. Ang paaralan mo ang sisihin mo sa di pagpapaliwanag kung amo ba talaga ibig sabihin ng K12. Mas maraming mahihirap kesa sa may kaya na makapag aral ng college katulad mo. At sila ang mas binibigyan pansin ngayon para magkaroon din sila ng sapat na edukasyon at makapagtrabaho at mapaunlad ang buhay nila.

DeleteI'm actually a grade 10 student myself this coming year. So I feel your pain. But honestly this k to 12 thing has a lot of advantages. Because realisticly speaking, not all college students get the jobs they want.( or they don't get jobs at all.) Meaning, thr employment rate will drop, leading to a lower economy. But because of this system, you could easily get a job (an alternate one) incase your original plan didn't work out. I hope you realize what all of this means. Intindihin nyo muna kung ano at para saan ang K12. Bago magreklamo. Di lang ito basta basta dagdag na 2 taon sa high school. Ito ang daan nila para malaman nila kung para san ba talaga ang skills nila kung pang academic ba, or skills. At dun mamimili sila kung san sila magaling at ihahasa sila. Di lang kasi puro academics magaling ang mga tao. May mga mahina sa academics pero magaling sa skills at para sa kanila ito.

Sa mga sinisisi po ang kaguruan kung bakit may mga batang tamad at bobo..wag po sa kanila isisi kasi po sa pagmamasid ko po bilang isang magulang sa mga guro sa kasalukuyan andami na pong bawal na ginagawa ng ating mga dating guro kaya tayo ay natuto noon. Dahil po sa RA 7610 pandilatan lang daw ng guro ang bata e bawal na..ang ilan po kasing magulang e kncntidor sa kanilang anak kaya po lumalala. Noon pong nag-aaral tayo mga 1990 year and below mataas pagtingin natin sa mga guro kasi takot po tayo dahil sa kanilang pagddcplina na inaayunan naman ng ating mga magulang (pero ang iba guro po noon kasi sumusobra naman). Sa mga batas na ginagawa nila sana timbangin muna ang maaring kalalabasan para hindi masisi ang mga kaguruan at mga batang walang alam.. Pero sa hindi paglalahat nasa guro nga din kung paano ang gagawing strategy para makinig ang kanyang mag-aaral. Sa mga gurong magagaling kaya mga kabataan ay natututo saludo sa inyo.

Ang ibig po sabihin kunwari po, sa isang subject ang total score ko pag inadd na ang quizzes, exams, other activities ay 60/100% ang lalabas na final grade ko sa report card ay 75 (pasang-awa). Dati kasi if ang total score mo sa mga outputs mo ay 50/100% you already get the pasang awa sa report card (75). Which means, inangat nila ang passing score. So ngayong ang mga studyante they will not only aim for a score of 5 sa 10-point quiz but they need to get at least 6 to pass. it's 60% it's no longer half.

So sa bagong Grading system, I need to get at least 24/40 both sa WW and PT and at least 12 sa QA. which will be only equal to passang awa which is 75. At sa mga magulang oo mahirap nga na magpaaral tapos dagdagan pa ng two years let's take a look at the brighter side nalang po n ang ating pamahalaan kahit na sabihin nating puro corrupt e gumagawa naman ng paraan para maging globally competitive ang mga estudyane. They just wanted us to have a collaboration regarding this matter.after all ang teacher ang nagtuturo at gumagabay sa paaraan pagdating sa bahay dapat pati magulang nanay teacher din sa bahay :) wag lahat ng knowledge and understanding iaasa sa guro. Right :))

ReplyDeleteBakit kaya sa dirami rami ng mga nangyayare sa Pinas, ang gusto ng mga guro dagdag sweldo? Tapos ang mga mag aaral ayaw ng dagdag taon, ang gobyerno maaring ginagamit ang sistemang ito para sa nakabubuti o kaya naman maaring para sa kanila lang. Nakaka ewan na pabago bago. Pano naman ang mga batang nagpupursige , parang hindi sila maeencourage kung ganito kagulo. Sana bago magisip ng bagong sistema.. pinapatagal muna nila ng kahit 3-5 taon na lang... hindi naman kasi agad masasabing good effect or bad effect agad dahil parang tatlong batch pa lamang ang nakakaranas ng K-12. Sana mapagisipan ng mabuti.

ReplyDelete1.The school itselfs is not ready for this implementation for whatever track they are going to choose. Facilities, equipment and even the so called competent teachers are the problems because most of schools were "0" in numbers..
2. Teachers themselves were not yet ready even if some of them tool already some national assessment still it doesn't prove that they are competent enough to teach those skills and knowledge in which they just learned for few days or weeks, even some don't undergo comprehensive trainings..
3. Parents were shocked and don't have a choice but to follow... But deep inside they know that what they earned for the family is not enough and probably soon will decide to stop their children after grade 10..
4. The students now a days believe that no one will got FAILED due to this program.. I've been teaching @ night high school and most of them got mad why they FAILED even they know the fact that they are keep on being absent and attending the class.. Some of them were confused if this program will happen, because they can't feel nor see the changes and improvement....
May I suggest why not see improve the learning process the students for being a better citizen of our country? What I see as actual happenings in this program is the so called "ZERO DROP OUT".. I alone FAILED many of my students last march because they don't deserve to pass and I assured to you that I did my very best before I gave my final decision but then they don't accept and listen with my help and suggestions.. Why not focus how to develop all subjects dealing with the CORE VALUES not COMPETENCIES alone??
If the students FAILED it is always the discretion of the teacher but always remember that we are not alone the member of the community which is the so called "SCHOOL"...
Plan is good, but how will actions be great if the people and thinga around are not yet ready?
Please don't be focus with the CORE of being COMPETENT but let it focus with the VALUES..
I am not pro nor against about it, I still believe that what we all wanted is to make those children a better person...
Yes, the plan was so good , but there is no back up, before we had only 4 subjects in grade 2 whole day ang klase, but now 7 subjects half day because of the lack of rooms, kahit na anong bilis nang discussion mo hindi ito makukuha. We need to wait with the children when they are writing, and also when you have some activities how could you get that 7 subjects in a half day. We are not magicians?

DeleteI don't get where the hate is coming from. UP has a very similar grading system for some subjects (e.g. Math and Sciences). The difference is we transmute it differently. Passing is 60 which is 3.0 in college. 55-59 is a 4.0 (conditional pass or fail) anything below that is 5.0 (failed). In this one anything below 60 is still a failure. K-12 is very helpful in my opinion. I know people who were initially accepted for a Masters course abroad but ended up being rejected because they didn't have enough years of study.

Ganto isipin niyo. Pinilit ang mga estudyante ng R-BEC o ang K-10 na mag K-12. Diba dapat ang mga nag simula ng kinder ang ilinagay nila sa curriculum na k-12. Bakit namin kailangan mag K-12 kung ang curriculum namin dati ay K-10, bakit di nalang ang mga kinder ang pina k-12 nang nakapaghanda pa ang DEPED sa mga grading system, teachers, classroom at facilities. Saka i weigh naman sana ng gobyerno yung mga mahihirap. Sabi nila para daw ito sa mahirap pero dito nga saamin ang mga public schools ay hindi kaya mag bigay ng k-12 dahil kulang ang mga classrooms at teacher. Sa mga private schools naman ay sinasabi ay napakamahal ng tutiton. Edi pano pa ang mahihirap wala na? Sana naman ay pinagaralan pa nila at nagsagawa ng survey sa masa dahil sila rin ang kawawa. Kaya NO to K-12 ako sana ay ipatigil muna ito at pagaralan pa. :)

DeleteWith all due respect po, wala po yatang katarungan ito para sa mga mag-aaral na nagpupursige. Paano na po yung mga mag-aaral na nagbibigay ng mas malaking effort sa kanilang pag-aaral? Di po ba't parang naipapantay na lang ang kanilang kahirapan sa mga kamag-aral nilang nagbibigay ng mas kaunting effort? DeletePremature implementation of k to 12 curriculum creates confusion both in teachers and students. All are experimental in nature. After 3rd year of implementation, there's another changes in the grading system. We can't do otherwise but to follow the Dep Ed order. But to the extent that all is waste of time, money, effort in training and retraining of teachers. I believe that since this educational system is always experimental, and patterned from educ system of other countries, I think we could never see its successful outcomes or output. There's should be a thorough study before its final implementation. Lack of teaching materials, books, and thorough knowledge are some important factors for unsuccessful implementation plus negative attitudes of both parents, students and teachers. Let us wait and see again this coming school year. What could probably awaits us?

DeleteAfternoon, I am not sure what countries demand the extra two to three experience before being hired.I agree that experience is essential in any company;however, having a HS degree vs. A College degree will also weigh heavily in the process.In America the K-12 grade system works well and the schools have amole budget for HS student to study a job skill to prepare foe the workforce.Furthermore, companies love interns whether HS or College due to the free man power,as well.Some even hire their intern during the process if they show that the student would be of great value to the business.To top that off, their are tons of job opportunities after graduating from HS pr College. For the Philippines, this k-12 is not a plausible program.1. Business would rather hire a applicant with a college degree due to the higher discipline gained. 2. Businesses in the Phil. are extremely prejudice when it comes to sex,age,status education,etc. 3. Families are not prepared for the extra expense for addt'l years of HS. And so on... Hindi naman mali ang education at grading system natin eh, hindi naman marumi ang politika at gobyerno. Ang marumi at ang mali ay ang taong namamahala ng gobyerno, ang mga taong nagcocompute ng grades, pati na rin ang buong populasyon ng bansa. Simpleng panuto hindi kayang gawin eh paano ba uunlad ang bansa niyan?! Sinabing bawal magdoktor n grades ang ibang guro naman magpapalit ng grade para pumasa ang bata, eh pano matututo ang bata palitan ang ugali niyang hindi nagaaral. Na sa batas na bawal mangupit ng pera sa buwis na binabayaran ng mga tao, ginagawa pa rin. Pero ang pinakamalala talaga sinabing WAG MAGKALAT SA PALIGID, magtatapon ka pa rin ng basura mo?! Mga simpleng panuto di masunod yan ang puno't dulo ng poverty sa bansa. hindi naman natin kaylangan palitan ang lahat eh, ang kaylangan baguhin ang ugali at gawain nating mga mamamayan. DeleteI actually hate the new curriculum, it is clearly a pain in the arse. I should be graduating next year but because of this, I still have to suffer for two more years under a not-so-good education system. If you really want us to strive harder, you won't base on our grades. You should base on our skills/talents.

In school, your GPA is the basis on how intelligent you are when in fact you can do better aside from memorizing!! In politics, the number of zeroes in your bank books matters!!

Deletethis is better than the KPUP system. sa KPUP kasi anlaki ng hatak nung product. at yung grade ng product nanggagaling sa mga projects.. which means na kahit hindi masyado marunong yung bata, basta masipag gumawa ng projects, papasa.. eh dapat may natututunan ang bata.. bat ganun.
ReplyDelete-im soon to be grade 9 student and based on my experience, pagka gumagawa ka talaga ng projects papasa ka, may classmate kasi akong hindi masyadong nagrerecite at hindi masyado mataas yung mga quiz pero masipag at laging malinis at maganda yung mga projects at meron pang top.. so disappointing! talo na ng masipag ang matalino ngayun
I'm all for the K-12 curriculum, but I think it was implemented far too early. Almost everyone lacked time for preparation, and this led to lots of changing along the course of a few years. I wish they hadn't implemented it unprepared, because our education is now an experiment. We're treated as lab rats, for lack of better terminology. I'm an incoming Grade 10 student.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the KPUP system over the existing one. In this grading system there was an Understanding portion, which measured how much a student truly understood about a lesson. In the previous grading system, it tested how well a student could memorize something. I don't exactly know how to put it into words, but seemed as if knowledge stayed in the student's head solely for the examinations.
Despite this, there were flaws, and the one I was bothered by most was how great the impact of projects to the final grade still was. This meant that a student, no matter how lazy when it came to recitation and exams, with an eye for good projects, would receive great marks. I found this unfair.
I wish they had just tweaked the KPUP method. It was honestly a relief for me when it was implemented, because it bugged me how much some classmates were being rewarded for being people who were skilled in memorization. I knew that my other classmates not in the honor roll deserved it more (not saying that those who already were in didn't deserve it, but it was unfair to the others). When the KPUP system was put into action this year, the honor roll shifted quite drastically, and it just showed how deserving others were for being people who could understand lessons for the sake of learning and not studying. Trust me, there's a difference between the two commonly switched terms.
I hope the K-12 curriculum does its job, no matter how rocky the road would be. The government went to war with untrained soldiers who weren't armed enough. I hope there would be improvements along the way. I didn't want for our education to be experiments, but I suppose it was inevitable.
This system change would be a pain for both the students and teachers. I really do just hope that all ends well, and that the K-12 would prevent indecisiveness and poor decision-making among the future leaders of the government, so that today's mistakes will just be tomorrow's lessons. No history repetition here.
Sigurado na kaya ang bagong grading system na ito? baka 2 years from now change na naman. di pa nga na complete ang K to 12 change kaagad nga grading syatem. O baka pag may nakita na namang di maganda change uli.Sa palagay ko hilaw pa ang k to 12.

DeleteI don't see the need for us to follow the educational nor grading system of any country, not even the US. There was no problem that needed change to begin with. While students from other countries come as exchange students to the Philippines because they know that we have quality education here, we on the other hand think we are inept because we feel outmoded by the educational system of other countries. The fact that DepEd added 2 grades to the system only brings added expenses on the part of the parents. Who says that these graduates from grade 12 are sure to get a job after graduating??? Eh kung college grads nga, di makakuha ng trabaho, highschool grad pa kaya??? Who are you kidding??? Can you please be a bit more realistic! And did you ever consider the fact, that because of the added two years, there will be a two year gap on college enrolments??? Two years bang tutunganga ang mga college and university professors natin??? Two years na walang kikitain ang mga colleges and universities??? Aba, marami-rami ang mawawalan ng trabaho dahil sa K to 12 na 'yan! And anyway, some of the subjects that are being taught in this K to 12 program are rubbish! Why does a student need to learn how to bake a cake, for crying out loud! He or she can take a culinary arts course for only 6 months if he or she wants to be a chef, right after highschool. What? You teach this in highschool and he or she becomes a baker??? You are only sub-standardizing the ambitions of the students. Instead of promoting being degree holders is the way to go, DepEd is telling these students that it's okay to just be a highschool graduate. Anyway, thats what TESDA is for, right? For those who do not want to go to college but work after highschool, they can train at TESDA and get a certificate after completion. Wala lang talaga kayong magawa kaya naisipan niyo na kopyahing ang educational system ng US? Diyan tayo magaling na mga Pinoy... sa imitation. Wala tayong originality! Hala! What assurance can you give the parents and the students, that they will have a job after graduating from highschool from this K to 12 program. Sure kayo diyan ha! Unless this government creates jobs, no matter what kind of educational system you apply, will not work! In 3 yrs. time, many professors will be jobless, many colleges and universities will shut down because of this K-12 program. Then what????
ReplyDeleteHindi naman po siguro ganun ka walang-saysay ang curriculum. It just assures na may choice ka after high school. You can set up your own business because you'll have enough experience. Besides, from what I've heard, tho I'm not sure if it's true, kung ayaw mo na mag senior high then you can go straight to college if you can. If it's true, then senior high school can be a choice for those who have no means of paying for a college. Not bad, right?
DeleteAnd hindi naman po siguro magkakagap or whatsoever. There are college students na nagta-take ulit ng subjects nila. There are also people na late na nags-start mag college. May mga tumigil ngayong sem pero mag eenroll ulit. Siguro po less students will enroll pero di naman po mawawalan.

ReplyDeleteSiguro sa karamihan ng private schools na nag-iimplement ng K to 12 di nila nararanasan to... I'm not sure. But I'm certain na sa amin, feel na feel namin 'tong problema na to.
I'm a part of the first batch ng K to 12.
I am studying in a public school. But it wouldn't have mattered because before the K to 12 curriculum, our school was respected across the city. It was known for its quality education. And yet when I entered it, everything was wrong.
So when the year started... ayun. Pinakilala na sa amin kung ano talaga ang K to 12. Honestly, hindi naman sana masama e. Compared to the previous curriculum, mas interactive na siya. It also focused on what methods would be better sa pagtuturo sa bawat student. My parents were very supportive. They would ask me what I need for school, and they will provide right away... kahit minsan we are struggling.
Then it came to the time when we needed something, and nobody can provide it. Why? Because nobody is CERTAIN of what it should be. This thing happens mostly to references.
Of course there were modules. But they were not enough. Since we are in a public school, we don't have certain books that other schools have. Heck, even my teachers don't know where they are going to base their lessons from! They base here. They base there. And believe it or not, we've had teachers that had to base on their instinct! No, I'm not kidding. Even these teachers had their noses bleeding, eyes drooping, and yet, we barely achieved what you expect us to. Even these teachers complain from time to time how nobody knows what exactly is happening, or how it should be. The modules weren't enough. To be honest, it didn't even help us by half.
We suffered from a lot of typos and sentences or paragraphs that didn't make sense. My classmates pointed out (seconded by our subject teacher) how some (yes, SOME, and not just a few) supposed to be "facts" were false. We did a research on our own, and since then, we didn't trust these modules that much anymore. So san na kami babase?
It seemed to confuse the teacher as well. What happened was the worst 10 months' worth of 5 hours per week of my life. Every day she'd come to our class carrying a stack of papers, asking us for 5-20 pesos, and makes us answer the sheets. Of the whole school year, I can only recall 5 or seven times na nag -discuss siya samin. Halos isumpa ng buong klase yung subject na yun.
DeleteThen nag grade 8 kami. Kapag kinakausap namin yung mga baguhan, inggit na inggit kami. Ang galing daw nung teacher na yun magturo, kumpleto sa gamit, enjoy ang mga activities niya! Walang bahid nung bangungot na naranasan namin dati. Palibhasa, mas PREPARED na siya nung school year na yun. Hehe, hindi lang siya. LAHAT nang teachers namin noon, nag improve.
We were hopeful then kasi bagong year, nag improve na sila, sana maranasan na namin no?
Kaso hindi parin. ;-(
In fact, it grew worse for us each year, while yung mga sumunod, sila lang nakakaranas ng quality education. Kung dati wala lang certain na references, ngayon wala na talaga. Every goddamn assignment we have to scavenge. Kapag nakahanap ka ng info, you have to check kung malapit sa na-research nung iba. There were times when we all have different research output so half the class gets it right, while the other half fails. On desperate times we have to use "teamwork." Oh, you know what I mean. It won't be just a group or two, it always involves the whole class. That's how hard it is for us. If we try to stand for honor, chances are we miraculously make it or we fail and get kicked out of the school.
But that's not the worst part. During examinations or quizzes or summative tests, we have no idea where to get info for our coverage. Sure, the teachers try their best to discuss them, but when it comes to things that need to be memorized like terms and such, we don't know where to get them! Some references that teachers use are exclusive for teachers, and the only source we can rely on is the internet, which isn't as complete as it should be (as was believed), tbh.
My point here is, the additional 2 years is not the problem, nor the methods of the curriculum. Hell, I don't even care if it changes everyday! The problem is: We are not prepared.
HAVE PITY ON US. We are treated as if we are test subjects, as if they don't care what the outcome will be. So if your children is one of us and they are failing, please don't scold so much. Most of us are striving, but it's not easy. We are not learning so much no matter what we do. And sigurado namang ayaw nyo rin na isang buong batch ang mag-graduate nang walang masyadong alam, PRODUKTO NG DI HANDA AT KULANG-KULANG NA CURRICULUM NA IPINATONG NYO SAMIN.
Ibinibigay nyo sa amin kahit di sigurado, tapos pag may mali, hindi na maitama. Sa susunod na batch nalang aayusin. Pano nalang kami???
Anyway, sakali ngang tuluyang mag-fail 'tong curriculum na to, ano nang gagawin namin? Tutunganga? Ganon nalang yun? Tapos magagalit kayo na maraming mangmang na kabataan? Sana kung mag eeksperimento kayo ng ganito kalaking bagay, maghanap kayo ng paraan na hindi kami maapektuhan ng sobra. ;( Naghahangad rin kami ng maayos na sistema ng edukasyon. And hindi kami nagvolunteer na makibahagi sa "EXPERIMENT" nyo na to kaya sana binigyan nyo kami ng karapatan na tumiwalag, edi sana nakuha pa namin yung uri ng edukasyon na makakabuti samin!

a.k.a Incoming grade 10.
Sana po mapagplanuhan niyo na po ng maayos yung mga pinapatupad niyo for K-12. I mean sana magwork din to and mamaintain na kasi ang hirap po ng pabago bago sa K-12 na to specially yung grading system. Mahihirapan yung mga teachers syempre lalo na kaming mga estudyante. Kailangan nanaman namin magadjust for the sake of our grades. KPUP was so hard kung alam niyo lang. Wag nio na sana pahirapan pa lalo ang mga estudyante. Napapagod din po kami kahit na sabihin niyo na nagaaral lang kami napapagod din yung utak namin. Kahit na sabihin niyong experiment lang to well may naaapektuhan. Goodluck sa bagong system na to sana mag work and please sana pagtuunan niyo ng pansin ang mga pinagdadaanan ng mga students :) -incoming Grade 10
ReplyDeleteK-12 system does NOT promote taking up professional studies. Taking up alternate jobs other than preferred jobs is not really a problem. K-12 promotes "what we want" notion of self rather than "what we need" for the Philippines. K-12 promotes skills needed for export, not for the need of the Philippines. Philippines needs more scientists and professionals rather than culinary artists and/or some other vocational courses, which some vocational courses easy to learn, we don't really need to pay for it. Adding two years does not make us ready for anything under the sun... it makes us content to our skills needed for export.
ReplyDeleteThe objectives of K-12 is good, but the way of its implementation is another thing. Things are not executed properly because teachers lack the proper training and preparation. Imagine, all of a sudden, there is a new grading system to be implemented without the teacher's having any background about it. Also, it's products are really meant for export workforce and so, what will be left for our country? But as for the moment, let's make use of this system to the best of our ability and help make our country move forward.
ReplyDeletei have read the new DepEd guidelines for school year 2015-2016 and I've noticed that base on its format and the way how it was explain is pretty impressive, but on implementing it is another thing.....
ReplyDeletepoint is, new comer in this field really need more time to understand and and to master one's guideline so with the old ones. KPUP really an effort absorber, time consuming and hustle but learners and catalyst are not doing an experiement here, trial and error is not good at this time.
New policy, New guidelines, and new system to implement means another budget, another waste of money and another opportunity to fail.
A year to conclude that KPUP is no longer suitable for learners is absurd. a year of trial fails and new options to practice is another concept of "Juan tamad"

ReplyDeleteIm just a student yung grading system is good or bad pero ok naman to kaso na experience ko na ang line of 7 (76) dahil sa lack of records at nag take ako ng quiz nag take ako bg exam pero yung teacher yung problema wala siyang records sa akin sayang yung long quiz ko nawala yung papel tapos hindi na iya na record ako din ma dismayado kasi ito lang 76 nakuha ko sa whole life.. Ok pa yung KPUP no worries pero ito ok naman siya kaso yung teacher baka careless sa records sa kapwa kong estudyante sayang ang paghirapan kong grades sa ibang subjects
ReplyDeleteSa tingin ko okay naman itong grading system na ito. Kasi, per my experience noong bata pa lang ako, marami akong mga kaklase na nawalan na ng pag-asang mag-aral kasi mababa grades nila knowing na nandun palang sila sa pinakamadaling stage ng education life nila. This type of grading system for k to 12 program Philippines would really be of big help to our young students.
