DepEd Order No. 8 s.2015, which was signed by DepEd Secretary Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC, is entitled "Policy Guidelines on Classroom Assessment for the K to 12 Basic Education Program".

Page 9 of 33-page enclosure of DO 8 s.2015 highlighted the Grading System to be used in assessing the learners.

"The K to 12 Basic Education Program uses a standards-and-competency-based grading system", it underscored.

According to the K to 12 new grading system, all grades will be based on the weighted raw score of the learners' summative assessments.

"The minimum grade needed to pass a specific learning area is 60, which is transmuted to 75 in the report card. The lowest mark that can appear on the report card is 60 for Quarterly Grades and Final Grades", it added.

Teachers will bid goodbye to KPUP (Knowledge, Performance, Understanding and Product) Grading System as the latest K to 12 grading system has fewer components - Written Work, Performance Tasks, and Quarterly Assessment.

Here are some of the highlights of the K to 12 Grading System which will be implemented starting SY 2015-2016:
