Bagyong Kabayan or Typhoon Kabayan Update as of August 1, 2011.
PAGASA in its severe weather bulletin/update said Typhoon “Kabayan” has maintained its strength as it moves in a Northeast direction.
At 2:00 p.m. today, Typhoon “Kabayan” was located based on satellite and surface data at 1,190 km East Northeast of APARRI, CAGAYAN (19.8°N 134.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 13 kph.
The state weather bureau has not raised a public storm warning signal and said this weather disturbance is too far to directly affect any part of the country.
Weather forecasters said the estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 25 millimeters per hour within the 800 km diameter of the storm.
