Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel will assume office as senator this coming Thursday, August 11, 2011 as reported on "24 Oras" on GMA. His incoming proclamation is in accordance with his winning of the 12th spot in 2007 senatorial election.
According to Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) Secretary Irene Guevarra said that the SET en banc is scheduled to meet on August 11, Thursday when the body could issue a resolution that same day to proclaim Koko Pimentel as senator.
Koko Pimentel expressed his desire to choose Davao Oriental Governor Corazon Nuñez-Malanyaon to swear him into office.
Koko Pimentel said that he knows that he will be compared to his father, former Senate President Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr., but the younger Pimentel assured the public that he is his own man.
