COVID-19 Vaccine: Which Country Could Save Us from Covid-19

There are more than 150 countries engaged in formulating the exact vaccine for the deadly virus Covid-19. There are already 90 countries supported by COVAX already, and there are seventy-five other countries who submitted interest to COVAX Facility. This facility is designed to guarantee fair, equitable, and fast assessment to COVID-19 vaccines for every country.

The main goal of COVAX is to deliver two billion doses of safe and effective vaccines by the end of 2021. The said vaccine shall pass the regulatory approval of World Health Organization WHO prequalification.

Currently, the country Russia is leading the race in formulating the possible vaccine for this virus. Last May 11, 2020, Russia claimed that they already approved the world’s first COVID-19 vaccine. The country also note that their Ministry of Health issued a registration certificate for those 76 people who have joined the COVID-19 vaccine trial of their very own vaccine. The said vaccine was developed by Gamaleya Research institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology in Moscow. It is also stated in the certificate that the vaccine is not allowed to be used widely, not until January 1, 2021 or after larger clinical trials have completed.

Last July 27, 2020, the United States started the world’s biggest COVID-19 vaccine study testing about 30,000 volunteers to test the shots created by the National Institute of Health and Moderna. This is a sign the COVID-19 vaccine is still on process.

But just like other viruses that have killed thousands and millions of people worldwide, there will be a vaccine coming to answer all the worries and fears of people around the globe.

When will be the COVID-19 vaccine become available to the public?

Billions of people are waiting for the official release of the COVID-19 vaccine. Usually, a vaccine takes years, if not decades, to be developed. But researchers hope to achieve it in a few months of work. Most experts say that it will become available widely by mid of 2021.

How much it will cost to get vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine?

Many are still asking about the price, since not all people have enough money to get a shot. As per Moderna, which is one of the leading companies for safe and effective vaccine of COVID-19, they already made a deal with other countries to sell the vaccine from $32 to $37 per dose.

The said prices are meant for small volume orders, so the cost might be lower in bulk.

Is it mandatory to get a Covid-vaccine?

Different countries are still working about this issue, some countries like USA already said that their vaccine will not be mandatory. United States top infectious disease official Anthony Fauci said that they cannot mandate and force people to take the vaccine.

A vaccine is only a quick prevention for the said virus, it’s not enough. People still need to be aware on how they can avoid this virus, pandemic won’t end, not until people cooperate with the health workers, as well as their own governments.
