"Happy Teachers' Day", a song composed and written by Romeo Canilao is dedicated to all teachers in celebration of National Teachers' Month (NTM) from September 5, 2016 to October 5, 2016. October 5, 2016 is also the National Teachers' Day (NTD) and World Teachers' Day (WTD).
NTM 2016 has the theme: "Guro Kabalikat sa Pagbabago".
Deped Memorandum No. 139, s. 2016 (2016 National Teachers' Month, National Teachers' Day and World Teachers' Day Celebrations) issued on September 1, 2016, highlighted the aims of the said celebration as follow:

- honor those who are in teaching profession;

- revitalize the image of and respect for teacher as a vocation by increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in Philippine society;
- take the occasion as an opportunity in building the image of teaching as an attractive and fulfilling profession;
- generate widespread support and assistance for teachers; and
- express gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on Filipino learners.
