DepEd will receive 15%, the biggest chunk of the proposed Php 3.002-trillion National Budget for 2016 and public school teachers and DepEd personnel are hoping that the bill proposing the salary increase for teachers will be enacted into law.

If the proposed salary increase will be signed into law, Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said the entry pay of Teacher 1 level will be PhP 29,800 monthly and PhP 16, 000 for the non-teaching personnel.

At present, a Teacher 1 receives Php 18,549.00 while a non-teaching personnel (entry level) gets about Php 10,000. A Master Teacher 1 has a Php 35,000 monthly salary.

To ensure the enactment of the law for the public school teachers' salary increase in 2016, Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) will conduct a rally during President Aquino’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27, 2015
